Security practice and board-level information security
Wouter Parent has been active in the security industry since 2002 and started as an independent IT advisor in 2009. From 2013 he specialised in information security, cybersecurity and the translation of technical risks into board-level choices.
In his career, Wouter performed over a hundred technical security assessments. In about three out of four environments examined, important security settings were different from what the organisation expected or could expect contractually. This experience is the basis for his actual, independent way of investigating.
In 2025 he founded Kynexis to connect technical depth, board-level interpretation and feasible improvement personally. His approach is characterised by care, decisiveness, a strong sense of justice and the conviction that good advice puts the client's interest first.

Trainer, speaker and boardroom supervisor
Wouter provides training, lectures and interactive sessions on information security, cyber security and digital risks throughout his career. In previous collaborations, he gave trainings for or via NBA and Auxilium, for target groups ranging from public domain regulators and professionals around the Register Tax Advisors to smaller audit firms.
He spoke during customer days, including Rabobank meetings, at business clubs across the Netherlands and for various SME organisations. He now uses this experience in boardroom training, workshops and management sessions on cyber risk, NIS2 and information security.
