From signal to decision
Use a warning as a targeted check
A new vulnerability or cyber warning does not automatically mean that your organisation is in immediate danger. The first step is to determine whether the technology in question is being used and who is responsible for assessment and follow-up. Then ask for patch status, temporary measures, verification and possible exceptions. In case of serious risks, also identify the decision and the remaining uncertainty. This way, topicality becomes part of your existing risk management rather than a separate technical notification.
